The company, previously known as Mendip Curriculum Services Ltd, was formed in 1992/3 to support education and also to help coordinate school inspections for OfSTED. The company diversified in 1996 after winning substantial contracts with police constabularies and over time, the work with education diminished and finally halted in 2003.

The story so far......

The company achieved ISO 9001 accreditation in 1999 for work with government bodies and the legal profession offering a ‘Confidential and Secure Transcription Service'.

Since this time, our customer base has widened significantly, with the company gaining transcription contracts of a very secure nature.  High profile clients that trust us with their sensitive recordings include the Crown Prosecution Service, the Department of Business, Innovation & Skills (BIS), police forces in the UK and overseas and many other government agencies.

Very significant contracts involving the transcription of Court proceedings in the Crown and County Courts of England & Wales have been won including the Scottish Court Service.

The company re-branded and launched as Mendip Media Group in 2007, focusing its business efforts on secure transcription services for the legal, public and private sectors.  As well as an extensive background in producing high quality transcriptions for the legal sector, the company now provides transcription services for a large number of other industry sectors including education, business, media and finance.

mmg produce transcriptions for around 9000 recordings annually for a wide range of customers both in the UK and overseas. We have over 50 employees working in the Tiverton offices with many more people employed across the UK, either as court reporters or freelance transcribers.
