Mendip Curriculum Services Ltd was formed in 1992/3 to support education and also to help coordinate school inspections for OfSTED. The company diversified in 1996 by winning substantial contracts with police constabularies and over time, the work with education diminished and finally halted in 2003.

The company achieved ISO 9001 accreditation in 1999 for work with government bodies and the legal profession at large in offering a ‘Confidential and Secure Transcription Service'.

The customer base has widened significantly, gaining contracts of a very secure nature with august organisations such as the Crown Prosecution Service, Department of Trade and Industry and other agencies such as the Department of Constitutional Affairs.

Very significant contracts involving the transcribing of Court proceedings in English and Welsh Crown and County Courts have been won and most latterly with the Scottish Court Service.

As well as producing high quality work for the legal sector the company is now focusing on providing speech to text solutions for a large number of other industry sectors including education, corporate & business, media and finance.

Around 9000 recordings are now transcribed annually for almost 50 different and regular customers. We have almost 60 employees based in the Tiverton office with many more working in different locations.

The company was re-branded and launched as the Mendip Media Group in 2007 focusing on Secure Transcriptions, Legal Services and Corporate and Media markets.
