Company History

Since forming in 1992, mmg  has grown from strength to strength and has now earned a reputation for high quality work, flexibility and technical innovation. We take security issues very seriously and are one of a few transcription companies that can offer a highly confidential in-house transcription service.  Clients who come to us with recordings of a highly confidential nature are guaranteed that their data is in safe hands.  A recent inspection by the CPS found our premises and systems to be ‘fit for purpose’ for their work. The Company is on track to achieve ISO 27001 within 6 months and are currently embarking on the accreditation process. We have a proven quality assurance system in place, accredited by the ISO 9001 certification, having  first gained in 1999, in order to help us to produce accurate and timely transcripts.

Our customer base is extremely wide, with the Company holding transcription and recording contracts from various high profile organisations.  Clients that trust us with their sensitive recordings include the Crown Prosecution Service, the FSA, NHS, the Department of Business, Innovation & Skills (BIS), police forces in the UK and overseas, Jersey Financial Services Commission, the Competition Commission, the Intellectual Property Office and the Central Office of Information.  Our contract with the Ministry of Justice involves the transcription of court proceedings in the Crown and County Courts of England & Wales.

In total, mmg produces transcriptions for over 12000 recordings annually and attends and records hundreds of meetings, court proceedings, inquiries, depositions and hearings per year.

As well as our in-house staff, over 40 virtual transcribers, located across the UK, transcribe recordings already in the public domain and 100 court reporters work in the 18 Crown Court centres that we service across the UK (82 courts in all). We are also privileged to be helping the Ministry of Justice in their planned development of introducing digital recording and transcription into the Crown Courts of England & Wales.  The skills of all our transcribers and reporters are second to none, which is clearly shown in the quality and output of their work.
