On-site Recording Service

mmg has developed a quick and cost efficient way of producing excellent quality recordings and highly accurate transcripts from court sessions and other legal proceedings.

Take advantage of experienced and security cleared technicians, state-of-the-art hardware (microphones, laptop and speakers) and bespoke court reporting software at any location.  You will receive the completed transcript within hours of the end of the proceedings, making our on-site recording service a more cost effective solution to hiring a stenographer.

As well as ensuring good quality recordings, our technicians will produce a log of who is speaking and at what time, so when you receive the transcript and recording, you have the facility to pinpoint specific sections without trawling through a mound of data.  The log also assists our transcribers so they can produce work to the highest degrees of accuracy.

We work with many clients to produce these timely transcripts, including Coroners' Courts, local councils, solicitors and government agencies and have even installed fixed equipment into venues that required it on a more permanent basis.

For the smaller event, interview or round table discussion

We are equipped with a high quality laptop and back up device, state-of-the-art microphones that produce the best sound quality you could ask for and our bespoke recording software. This compact package enables us to travel to most destinations without the need to take or set up a vast amount of recording equipment.

For larger events

We have a range of microphones, dependent on the size of the event, which can be adapted for use in any type of building. These, along with our specially designed mixer deck, enable us to adjust volumes and cut out background noise, therefore providing a more coherent and good quality recording.

We ensure that we have access to the venue the day before the event in order to set up and test the equipment.

We have provided this service for a number of clients involved in public inquiries, court hearings and conferences.

Inquests

We specialise in offering Coroners' Courts across the UK an on-site digital recording and transcription service for their inquests. Our loggers and transcribers are fully versed in the format of this type of proceeding and can turnaround the transcripts in any time frame. We regularly work with the following:

Private & Public Inquiries

Our expertise has been requested on many occasions to set up bespoke recording equipment in temporary courts, accommodating up to 200 people, for the purpose of producing same day transcripts. We have been very successful in producing highly accurate transcripts for a number of major public inquiries, which have been invaluable for all those involved in the case.

Case Study - Rosepark Fatal Accident Inquiry, Scotland
Following on from our contract with the Scottish Court Service, MMG were asked to provide recording and same-day transcription services for a major Fatal Accident Inquiry in Scotland, due to run for 6 months from November 2009 and to be attended by the Scottish Attorney General and senior QCs from the Scottish Office. We set up all necessary equipment, hired a local person to be on-site every day to log proceedings and send the recordings in 20 minute sections throughout the day to our offices in Tiverton. From here a co-ordinator allocated the sections to home-based workers in Scotland and then pieced together the finished transcripts ready to send back to the court later in the day. The quickest turnaround time we achieved using this service was 2 hours from the end of the court session. The inquiry was the longest running FAI in Scotland. We have received very positive comments from all parties involved.

Transcripts

Transcripts can be provided the same day or within the timeframe specified by the client.
